This world-renowned festival is returning to Winston-Salem this year, with a fresh new name and an exciting array of events. Formerly known as the National Black Theatre Festival, the newly rebranded International Black Theatre Festival (IBTF) will take place from July 29 to August 3, 2024. This 18th biennial event is a celebration of spirit, culture, and art, transforming Winston-Salem into a vibrant performing arts hub.

Over the course of six days, Winston-Salem will host more than 130 performances across multiple stages, welcoming over 65,000 theatre enthusiasts from around the globe. The IBTF promises a dynamic blend of theatre workshops, film festivals, seminars, and a star-studded celebrity gala, creating one of the largest and most anticipated theatre festivals in the country.
