NCHFA assists homebuyers through several innovative programs. One of the flagship offerings is the NC Home Advantage Mortgage™, providing eligible homebuyers with competitive interest rates and down payment assistance of up to 5% of the loan amount. This assistance, which can significantly lower the barrier to entry for many buyers, is offered as a 0% interest, deferred-payment second mortgage, and in many instances, may be forgiven after 15 years of homeownership. Additionally, for first-time and military veteran buyers, the Agency offers the NC 1st Home Advantage Down Payment, providing up to $15,000 in down payment assistance.
